Sustainable Design Diamond West is committed to promoting sustainable design practices wherever feasible. Our staff is well known for their expertise in Hydrology and Water Quality studies and designs with and emphasize on Low-Impact Development (LID) practices. LID practices use site design and storm water management techniques that control the amount of impervious surface, increase infiltration, improve water quality by reducing runoff from developed sites, and reduce costly infrastructure. LID practices include: bio-retention facilities or rain gardens, grass swales and channels, vegetated rooftops, rain barrels, cisterns, vegetated filter strips, and permeable pavements.
Diamond West has substantial experience working on projects that incorporate the United States Green Building Council’s LEED® standards. In addition to practicing sustainable design practices, Diamond West is also a proud member of the United States Green Building Council, and our staff actively participates in the review of local agency sustainable design regulations and implementation.
